Breed & pattern of chicken? Mute chickens?

Not my chickens but asking for a friend. Not sure what breed they are but. Told her they look like they have cuckoo patterns

You've got a bantam Partridge Cochin pullet and a black sexlink cockerel.

The Cuckoo/Barring gene produces white "bars" on each feather. Males that are pure (two copies) for the gene have thicker white 'bars' giving them a lighter appearance than birds with only a single copy.
Partridge is completely different, but many people confuse the black penciling of juvenile plumage with barring.
