I am gonna say New Hampshire. But it could be a cross of some type. I have a Gold Campine/Buff Orpington cross that looks a lot like him.

To me it looks like it's a Buff Orp. cross.

The comb doesn't look Orpington. It looks like it has small ridges on the bottom.

But he is a beautiful bird none the less!

What color as his shanks/feet?

I would call those hatchery type New Hampshire Chickens.

i got them earlier in the year from black creek poultry, a local breeder in collinsville, al.
they were supposed to be buff orpingtons.
i got some day old chicks, 2 week old chicks and 6 week old chicks.
one turned out to be a light brahma and the rest are all like these.
the price was right and i got to pick them up at a meeting place so
i did not get to see what he had. also no shipping which was a plus.
but i did get one hen that looks like a buff so all is not lost.
i figured BO/RIR cross is what they are.

I agree that they are New Hampshires. Too dark for Buff Orpington and too light for Rhode Island Red.
