Well I don't know if this counts but I am tryig to get a light Barahma hen without specks on it's back.

ALL the ones I orderd from McMurray have this.

Also this fall I plan to get a golden Phoenix and breed them to my silvers and eventually start to get golds.

Here is a pic of my Lavender project Orph roo. This is from Jody(Hjink) lester lines. I hope that I get lots of Lav babies in the future. LOL!!!

Now that I've found someone who had Bantam Black Crevecoeurs, I'm starting to look into breeding a crested Cochin. I was going to try using White Cochins with Sultans, but decided there would be too much to breed out later. I also didn't really want to use Polish because the only Bantam Polish I seem to be able to find are WCB. Crevecoeurs and Polish are the only crested chickens I've found that have only 4 toes, also.

I'm not really concerned with if having a crest makes a Cochin not a Cochin or anything like that, and I'm not gonna stress if I just can't get the leg color right. It's just for fun and I wanna see a round Cochin-like chicken with a big poofy crest.

So any advice or anything someone has, I'm open to it

Krys, I would like to see more pictures of your lav partridges. I have a project line of birds(not orps) composed by chance, almost entirely of partridges. Really hate this color and would be so nice if I was able to alter it to something more pleasing.. one idea was to introduce lavender into it.

Yeah, sorry I left that out. Black Cochins. I'd considered Mottles Houdans with Mottled Cochins, but I think 5 toes is dominant, and I didn't want to deal with that, but I wanted the crests to match the color of the rest of the bird.

It's going to be a while, but that's where I'm trying to head

The bad part is, in two years I'm going to be a Freshman in college, and I don't see beginning this at least for a few more months. Hopefull I'll be able to still work with this even though I'll be off-site.

Edited to say that because Bantam Crevecouers seem to be rare, I'm planning on breeding some of them as well and keep that line pure from any other crosses.

I joined this site with the idea of doing French BCMs. After I got on here and found out about Lavender Orpingtons (The Orps are my favorite breed) and I had to make it my main mission. So, my Dh bought me some eggs from hinkjc and I have some on the way from Dutchchic as well. I am getting some black orps from Bamachicken to work with them as well. I am still doing BCMs too though.
