breed question

I just picked up a doz hatching eggs and the hatchery told me I would not know the breed until I picked them up. I picked them up and all it said on the package was "RED X" any idea what this means???

They are probably production reds.

No, it is like a RIR, but lays better, and is a lighter color. It is simply a hybrid.

You should be able to tell the difference by 4 weeks
