Breed questions.

Is an Americana (spelled how the hatchery spelled it) just anoth namer for Easter Egger?

Which hatchery. There are a very few hatcheries in the US that actually sell true Ameraucana chickens. Very few. There are some hatcheries that very recently have started selling chickens that they have developed that will lay blue or green eggs like Mrs. K mentioned. But they do not call them Ameraucana, they have cute marketing names. Still, they may be what you are after.

Knowing which hatchery could help a lot with this question but the majority of US hatcheries do not sell true Ameraucana. Misspelling Ameraucana like that is not a good sign at all.

There was one hatchery that started carrying John Blehm Black Ameraucana a few years ago.
I can't remember which one off hand, but they now also carry blues.....
...and a couple other hatcheries are now carrying various types of Ameraucana.

I get my chicks from a local feed store that sells Hoover Hatchery birds. I have two of the Americanas (aka Easter Eggers); one lays a lovely pale green and the other a slightly pinkish egg. Also, I have one of the Prairie Bluebell Eggers whose eggs are a very, very pale blue.

Although all took off laying for the winter, one of the Eggers has resumed laying her green eggs, about three or four a week right now.

Actually the hatchery I used last spring had some production laying hens that lay blue or green eggs. I have been please with them.

These are production hens, but if you are selling eggs, that is kind of what you need.

I'm pretty sure they are who Bomgaars orders through an had Americana listed. I was hoping they were gonna get some Prairie Blue Bells. We have 3 stores in town who do chick days so hopefully. I'm know I can order them online but it seems to be more of a hassle.
