Ok I just saw some of the new illustrations for the 2007 edition of the APA Standard. My question is this: If it's not even close to the breed description, do judges really go by it?

I am refering tothe Standard Cornish image in particular. There is no way the current bird, or the new image of the bird has the shoulders to carry a heart shaped back. The legs are wrong, the head is wrong, the wings are wrong.

We've suffered through the current illustration for long enough. This does not help the Cornish Breed...off to write the APA.....

In all honesty...the illustrations are just there to make it a bit easier to understand. The "truth" lies in the words.

How the heck did you get a 2007 standard?!

Ummm, do y'all mean 2009?

The best & most useful illustrations are the old black & white ones done by Schilling & others. These are the illustrations still used in the b & w edition of the standard. The colour illustrations in the more recent editions look like cartoons at best.

I would not go by the pictures....go by the actual description. No picture is going to be perfect and no living bird will be perfect either. Try not to get too upset by it, it's not worth the energy really.
