I'm thinking about expanding my flock. I was ondering if anyone had any suggestions on breeds that are nice and calm and will lay a decent amount of eggs. Thanks!

I've had great results with my mixed flock of Dominiques, Brown Leghorns, Easter Eggers. We've kept an excel spreadsheet so we know an exact # of eggs our girls lay. For March, The Dominiques have laid the most eggs (avg. of 24), Leghorns (avg of 23), and EEs (avg of 22.79). I'd have to recommend Easter eggrs ) My Dominique eggs are smaller than the others. Leghorn hens are stupid, but lay well. The EEs we have are frendly, lay well, and their eggs are as big as or bigger than the leghorns- and are prettier.
