She looks like a welsummer, but she seems a bit small. What type of chicken is the hen next to her?

The first is possibly a buff brahma, which means it will be buff with a black ring band and black tipped tail feathers, it will also have feathered feet. The second is possibly a buff orpington, which means it will have plain buff coloration.

This is not definite, but if those chicks are the same age, just by looking at the feather development the second chick is more likely to be a hen. However, the second is more likely to be a rooster.
