Breed?

Hi all,
I got this chick from a breeder (all pure breed) She gave it to me for free and she wasn’t sure what breed it is. It is 1 week and 4 days old.
Also i included some possible breeds

A breeder would know what it is. I believe this person is reselling birds from large hatchery order. Free birds from hatchery are males. Thrown in as packing peanuts as a means to get rid of them.

I have no clue what breed it is.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but I doubt it... she incubates (over 300 at a time) and raises her own chickens and she has a nice setup. She said it may be a pyncheon or Golden campine bantam but I sincerely doubt it is either of those breeds.

Since it’s clean legged that rules out all feather legged breeds, since it has a single comb that rules out Sebrights, the leg color doesn’t match the Phoenix. You will have to wait for it to feather out some more.

I'm thinking Pyncheon, possibly. That's the only single-combed, clean-legged breed on the list which makes sense. Guess we'll know more as it grows!

While you can spot an obvious "poof" on some chicks' heads, others don't show up until they begin feathering in. It'll be interesting to watch!
