    Those are not pure Rhode Island Reds. A pure Rhode Island Red will be much darker in color. Your birds appear to be Production Reds. They are fantastic layers of brown eggs! I have two myself.

    I agree with Sunny.. RIR's are a deep mahogany color.

    I am throwing the 2nd shot in of the RSL, because I cannot see the hen very well...even enlarged...but first
