My girlfriend would like me to surprise her brother and build a breeder loft for his pigeons. I have chickens and a nice coop but am not sure what all is good for a breeder loft. My plan calls for the loft to consist of six cages 16"x16"x24" three high and two wide. Solid on the back and both sides with chicken mesh in the front. There will be removable droppings trays in between the levels. My question is regarding the interior amenities. He uses the paper nesting bowls and like a shelf. I could use directions about waterers, feeders, roosting and where to place the nest bowls. Also is 1/4" mesh too fine for the bottom of the cage? How big does the mesh need to be to allow the droppings to fall through? Whatever help, links or pictures would be very helpful.

Wow! Really, no help.

I use 1/4 inch wire and most of the poop fall through

Blue chip, is the pigeon talk forum on this forum? I would like to see some more pics! Could you provide a link?

Lofty, It looks like your set up has some kind of storm doors or something that closes across the whole front. Is that for privacy or protection from the weather?

Thank you both for your help.

Yes, I guess what I am building is nesting cages and not a loft, my bad. I hope to get it done this weekend.
