Goal was for 8 pens, 8'x5' minimum (40 sq ft each).

Well, I got the pens done (except primer and paint); though I am still working on the runs. I have lots of priming/sealing and painting to do. BUT, I needed the room, so am using them now.

This is what I started with:

Looks GREAT!! I want to do something similar to the inside of our crappy excuse for a barn. Nice job with all the framing inside.

I looked at your second page too, with the expanded selection of photos. Where did you get your netting? I've been looking for something large like that to cover my outdoor run -- we've got a lot of hawks around this year.

I love it! I know it has been a lot of work but you will be so glad you have all these pens.
And I am glad to see someone else is like me and can't get that @*%# poultry wire tight! I fought with mine last summer so much I was about ready to give in and pay more money for the hardware cloth.

I can't remember. I will look and see if I can find it. I searched the internet until I found what I wanted. I bought 2 of the size I wanted .... 25' or 50' wide by 100' length I believe. I got the double knotted stronger netting.

And I am glad to see someone else is like me and can't get that @*%# poultry wire tight!

I did most of this project by myself, with very little help, and it is very difficult to pull tight and staple at the same time!

That's awesome!

What a great deal to have that boat shed just sitting there waiting for you to put chickens in it!

Hopefully, i will soon have breeding pens also, but we're going to have to start from scratch.
