Breeder Pens done (except paint), Runs nearly completed!

One question Kathy, don’t you need to worry about predators. I see at the bottom you have some gaps. Do you have raccoons or other predators that could get in there?

Don’t be mad at me please.

I’m just trying to protect your chickens for you. I’d hate to see you lose them. I only ask because 2 days ago I had a raccoon dig under my cage. I never saw it my DH could tell because of its tracks.

You did a great job. I don't think I could do that.

I can’t do a straight line to save my life. My boards wood be at a 45 degree angle.

You are very wise! Oh yes, I plan to have hardware cloth buried along the bottom! That will not be done for another week or so though. Actually, they are all locked up at night .... secure inside the building. They will only be outside during the day hours. I also have two different things for covering the top, and am debating. I have double knotted aviary netting, and I also have hardware cloth. I was thinking to just use the netting, since the purpose is mainly to keep them in and to keep hawks out! I don't know that I want to do the hardware cloth. Still pondering ....

Just what I thought! Who needs a boat sittin' around anyway, right? They just take up space!

Tomorrow's pictures should look even better. All the pop doors are done, and the chickens can actually all come outside to play!

They will be happy to get out I bet. I don't have a fence for mine and we have red tailed hawks around here. My chickens have 76 acres to run around in but they seam to want to go across the road to the neighbors. So they are on lock down. My DH said he doesn't want a fence up, it will look bad but if I can get him to look at yours maybe he will change his mind.
