Humidity will most definitely be my biggest issue as Colorado is super dry, especially the area I live. I'm hoping Brinsea will ship it soonish so I have a few weeks to figure out how to run it before I want to try putting eggs in it. I went with the fully automated incubator because I have a full-time job away from the house, so I wouldn't be around enough during the week to be effective. Plus, my brain trauma is causing a lot of memory issues & having a lot of the process automated by the incubator are a few parts less for me to unintentionally forget. Although, if it weren't the middle of winter here, I'd let my half broody hen try & make a go for it herself - can't beat a natural egg hatcher! :D

The mini brinesea's are suppose to make your hatch really simple and for your situation it sounds like a good incubator :D.Yeah I wish my hens were brooders! But I also don't because I would never stop them and I'd end up with too many chickens :lol:.

My one hen seems to be unsure if she wants to be broody or not. She's very vocal & pushy when I take her eggs, but she's also not sitting on them constantly (she just covers them up with loads of straw hay). They all are just 8mos old, so maybe she'll go full broody later this year. Maybe the rest of them will start laying eggs as the year goes on! :)

The mixes are all a week and some are a few days past that. I can't wait for them to get older! But I want them to stay little and cute

Don't mean to kinda jump in. But I had a Buff Orp pullet who was like that, never fully went broody but those were her eggs! Nearly lost some flesh trying to take them...

I had rocks in the waterer but then they started throwing shavings in it. Talk about a pain to clean! And with all the snow it is very hard to get rocks.

@ChickyChickens

Cute babies!
