I think my tiny rooster does enough crowing for all his hens, plus the hens next door and the rooster down the street! He's very proud of himself. :)

I like the all the crowing and our neighbors don't live close at all so my birds get to scream their heads off which is totally awesome because my dog barks a ton too when the geese go off.

My neighbors are on all sides

And I just moved to this house, but I only lived 3 houses down the road. But the ones across the road have no animals at all. And my roosters were killed and one was badly torn up right after we moved. So no crowing for them. They are in for a rude awaking.

My dad is saying that he want's to get 100 buff orps (more like 25-. he couldn't handle all of those)

He was informed that he cannot do any bird buying without my permission, because I am the chicken person who cleans up after them, feeds them, etc. So now he is convinced that my little brother who is 10 will do it all for him. Uh, no.

It's one of the perks of living in a rural area. Living out in farming area means there's always someone with a rooster or dogs that like to talk somewhere! :D

I agree! Honestly I'd be more worried about the dog making too much noise over the rooster. But people these days don't appreciate the fine roosters and their proud crows these days
