Breeding Bro and Sis??

Hey yal!
I have a batch of 5 silkie chicks. I have 2 Hatchery mixed Roos, and 3 pure-bred silkies (gender un-known) I plan to try breeding them when they come of age, but I’m worried about inbreeding. The man that I bought them from got them as eggs from the Newnan Show. Since there are 3 pure-bred and 2 Hatchery mixes, is there a chance that the birds aren’t related? If yal have any tips or advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

I'd say slim chance they're related. Some people do breed related birds for specific traits ..its not unusual.however..down the line you would want to introduce new blood.

You can sell them but not as pure bred Silkies

Hmmm, @BantyChooks & @AMERAUCANAS4REAL are very knowledgeable in breeding chickens
