My Ducks are 15 weeks old and are free ranges, they are in their coop at night. I looked out the window and two of my mallards are mating. But she hasn't layed any eggs yet. if they are breeding can I expect eggs soon?

Yes and no. I know with our blue Swedish they were mating for three weeks before we saw eggs. It might be a little different with mallard but it could still be a few weeks

For mallards...I'd say no....they're seasonal layers and it's late...I have seen many bspecies of wild duck mate throughour bthe year....but no eggs...

I thought that it didn't matter with domestic mallards? thought only the wild mallards were seasonal layers?
