Does anyone have a breeding calendar or schedule that they use for spring breeding? I only have a small BYC "community" flock, but I will be pulling out a couple of pairs/trios for breeding. When is the best time to start? Do I pull the hens out first to make sure they are clear, or pull the roos first? Once pulled from the main flock, how long before I put them together? I know its early, but I want to make sure everything is ready to go - both me and the birds!! Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated! Thanx! PS - regarding climate and birds, I'm in Denver, and the birds are Bantam Cochins and Silkies.
