They are dormant in the muscle, not actively eating it. They are released when another animal eats the flesh/muscle.
I wonder if this is really what we have here in Cali. I had a Wild Boar ram my Jetta on the passenger side one morning on my way to work in Jan. It was Totaled by insurance, new too, only a 2014, happened in 2016, the animal ran off into the hillside, I could hear it thrashing around in the bushes and making squeels. But I swear it was huge, its eyes and snout I could see clear as anything even though it was pitchblack out, were right there in my Passenger window!Yep...pig-like creature in appearance, but it's actually part of the rodent family. It's pronounced have-UH-leenah. They get HUGE and can way well over 100 lbs, and they're amazingly destructive creatures. We've had a few customers bring their nearly totaled cars into our shop after running into a Javelina on the road. In more than one case the Javelina just walked off after doing thousands of dollars in damage to the front of the car. That said, I know people who've nearly domesticated them to the point where they can pet them without incident. I know other people who hunt them.
Here's a couple photos of them:

so the larvae, or eggs hatch and become active when the animal dies, then another animal consumes it and they develop into the worms or parasite that then lay the eggs/larvae into the new host? They are dormant in the muscle, not actively eating it. Oh my, I only have about 70 altogether. I haven't done a recent head count, and I really don't count chicks, or chickens for butcher.....The hatch that will happen next week puts me over 100. I've got a lot of culling to do.....

Im just curious, as I wouldn't want to make my chickens or turkeys sick. So its is topic related, in a way. Now I know NOT to give my Chooks any raw, wild animals, mostly bear and boar!Sort of. Meanwhile, I got a headache trying to shop for kitten food today. @Kev , I'm not a member at CostCo or Sams (never felt like I got my membership money's worth) - is the brand you got proprietary, or something I could look for elsewhere?
(Gotta get me some ground pork!!!!)

Speaking of pigs.... We get three Yorkshires tomorrow and I have absolutely no clue where I'm going to get the freezer space for them.
