BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Some pics from today. Stripy Butt's new duds, I was amused him not so much! lol Experimenting w/ a sock tunic but they are to big. It is working as a shirt w/ pants in the mild weather though I have 2 almost identical. I need to look under her feathers and see if she is just gypsy faced or fm. The young ones love being outside. I put them out full time at 4ish weeks.
Pretty birds....

I weighed my duckling yesterday, they'll be a month old tomorrow. The three biggest Pekin X Swedes are almost two and a half pounds.
#1 is 2lbs 4oz
#2 and #3 are 2lbs 2oz

The Swedes are slightly smaller weighing in at 1lb 8oz, 1lb 6oz and 1lb 6oz

My three week old Pekin is 4oz lighter than the mixes were at three weeks.

My brother in law is working near a commercial chicken house. Seems 200 2 day old chicks escaped. 6 were under his work truck, he captured them but only 3 made it to the end of the day. He brought them to me, I quickly set up the brooder, they were weak and chilled, but now they are warm and resting, they all ate and drank. They are looking bright eyed so we'll see how it goes w/ them.

It was a Tyson place so pretty confident they are meaties. I've never seen such young cx before they don't look big and hulky now is that normal? (2 days old)
