BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

II strongly recommend one strand of electric tape (the small round type instead of barbed wire. It will prevent almost all digging varmints (there's plenty of 'em) and unless your neighbors are right on top of you, it can't even be seen. It's usually black and white twined material that has no ominous appearance unless someone really knows what to look for.
I agree with the electric tape if you can make it happen at all. I lost $4000 worth of sheep to a neighborhood dog once... and of course the people were into foreclosure and disappeared without paying up. Now... in a accordance with local law... I shoot anything on my property threatening my livestock. Check with your local police before following my example though.

My fence is on T-posts. So, if I put the electric twine on offsets as low as possible on the fence, on the inside, that should keep any digging animal from coming up under, correct? I just need to charge it and keep the twine clear of vegetation, correct?

I would put the twine on the outside of your fence, about 5 inches above the ground. That way, you could easily use a weed-eater to keep it clear. You likely noticed you can get the product in several colors...I would use one that blends well with the background.

Ditto and X2! Anybody that sticks their nose against that wire won't do it twice.

Well, the new woman is keeping me pretty busy on the home front, so I haven't been on here too much. I've been doing some lurking,

and got caught up with all the posts about 3 days ago. When I got on today, there are 89 new posts! I would like to jump in and wish everyone a joyous Christmas and the very best in the new year. I am at work right now, but plan on getting out early tonight and then starting 10 days of vacation, and yes, I'm sure the new wife has the next 10 days planned down to the minute, building more furniture!

HAVE A GOOD ONE, EVERYBODY! (an' keep yer powder dry!)
