BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

The one i have now is 5' x 4' x 4' with a hinged frame covered in poultry wire with an electric wire on top just for good measure. Got a family of coons that come by to eat the dog food I put out for the neighbors dog that lives at my house.lol

With feral cats, stray dogs, and hungry coons my brooder has to be built like fort knox
Ok...I see what you mean...Your brooder is outside. Ours are in our summer kitchen, just off the main kitchen.

Our neighbor has come up with a better plan for the pond...rather than using the split poly-tanks, he suggests digging a regular pond and putting in a liner designed for such things. I think that's what will happen. Still gonna' pick up the tanks...not only have I given my word that I will take them, there will be SOME use for them around this place...sooner than later and at the price...they are being given away.

hellbender Ive done ALOT of research on the pond liners. My daughter wants a koi pond. The ones available at home depo ect. ARE NOT heavy enough. They can get really expensive for a quality liner. If you have stream access why not get to one side, dig a smallpond then tie it in upstream and downstream. The poly tanks are still a good option IMO they could be easily plumbed with a two inch discharge on the existing fittings. Make it real nice to pump out and clean.

Best use for older ducks. Grind them up into burgers, they taste kinda like beef anyway, and have a good fat content to stay super juicy and yummy on the grill. And unlike other poultry can be eaten on the rarer side if you like burgers that way.
