One month till my Buckeye/ production red hatching eggs arrive from Alberta!!! Counting the days. This will be an interesting experiment. I'm curious just how productive this cross will be.

Well my first hatch of the year is over! 8 of 18 eggs hatched. They will be going to their new home tonight.


Btw one is still in the incubator.

Here is an update on the baby's

Columbian Wyandotte and Cochin chicks...hatched three days ago.


Chicks are pipping and popping in the hatcher today. Will post a photo as soon as they come out.

I just took eggs off the auto-turner and filled the humidity channels. I am expecting the first one out tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Exciting times!!!

Today is day 18 for me, so last candling and then LOCKDOWN!!! Which actually means I'll be spending the next three days staring obsessively at the eggs and willing them to hatch.

And here I'm supposed to be productive the rest of this week. Hah!
