BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Ya well if it taste good I don't know how to put a price on it

My baby chicks were dust bathing yesterday and now my tv looks all dusty and I just wiped it off the same day they liked it though u tryed to take them out he'd hop right back in I tryed moving him to give the others a turn

I would never put one of my chickens lives over our family's starvation. We are pretty much set up hear. If something did happen in the world we would be ready to survive. We have everything we need and we would be ready to defend it.

I think it depends very much on how you where raised. My parents had more money than time so I was feed on a lot of processed crap and fast food. Most nights I ate something different than they did. Not because it was better for me but because it made it easier for them. I don't blame them too much though because the where fully indoctrinated consumers.

Now at (lets just go with over 40) I have been able to reeducate myself as to what food is and what the real cost of having food is. And yes My mind has opened up significantly and my priorities have changed. I am not content to be a consumer as my parents were. I am working hard t'word being a producer, even if it is only for me and mine. I still have a "comfort zone" when it comes to food and I am stretching it slowly. But...

I can honestly say there is no creature on earth that is going to watch any of my loved ones starve to death.

I would honestly rather die of starvation than eat my animals but everyone has there own comfort zone and eating my animals is not in my comfort zone heck if the wind picked up anymore we don't have a basement so if we were to have a tornado watch or something I would be the one outside getting my chickens out of the coop and my dogs and stuff running up through the yard to go into my neighbors basement than let my animals suffer through that and die a slow painful death until someone finds them

U would let your family starve?

And if you and your family starved to death, your animals would then eat your body/bodies (if they could reach them), then eventually die of dehydration or starvation. Sounds quite a bit crueler than a quick death to feed you and yours.

After all, our domesticated animals are dependent on us. So if we are suddenly taken out of the picture, the individual animals we have wouldn't survive....or at least wouldn't survive long.

Well they can live with the thought then that they killed my animals and then I will starve to death and they can eat me but I would never kill my animals to survive I would rather die a slow painful death than put my animals through that
You have the luxury of feeling that way, because at this point in your life you are not responsible for anyone other than your pets. When you are older that will change. When you are the one responsible for the safety and well being of another human, you will do what is necessary to make sure they are safe and healthy.

Never say never.

Have u tryed alligator I heard its good but I haven't tryed it and probably won't

Tastes like frog legs. Actually frog legs are tastier and tenderer. White meat of gator taste like chicken. I prefer the dark meat, don't know to describe it, just has more flavor, guess it tastes like gator. I'll be picking up 5-10lbs in a couple weeks, just depends on how much $ I want to blow.

The gator I had didn't taste like much of anything and merely took on the flavors of the seasoning added to it. For me it was like eating tofu...texture but no distinct flavor. Given a choice I'd take the gator over the tofu on texture alone.
