BREEDING FOR PRODUCTION...EGGS AND OR MEAT.

Oh the hypocrisy, let's just be consumers and buy our meat from the meat store where no animals were harmed. Let's feed our pet chickens until they live out their days. Um, better figure on buying some grain. But oh wait, when they plow up land for grain, it kills baby rabbits and field mice. Combines roll through everything from bear to snakes . Ever watch grain get harvested? It's not a bunch of Amish people with hand tools. The vegans and their rice. Modern rice production is responsible for more vertebrate animal deaths per pound of food than deer steak any day. If you exist as a consumer you are responsible for animal deaths. Unless you are naked and grazing on all fours you are killing animals. Your cute little "all man made materials" clothing contributed to the death and possible extinction of wild gazelles in the Arabian oil fields, to extract the petroleum that went into it. Then the ships that trucked it to Chinese refineries ground up beautiful sea creatures in their turbines. Yet we leave furbearing animals to rot in the road, because "fur is murder".

The people that dream this stuff up seriously need to up their meat intake, because it is scientifically proven that there are nutrients in meat responsible for proper brain function.

Same here. I've been reading a lot on how much waste is involved for all food products, meat and veg. A lot of wasted resources, a lot of wasted food. Instead of just having some chickens for some eggs and occasionally have to eat some I'm moving towards them actually being a constant source of meat. Same with our garden, always had somewhat of one, now I'm moving towards hopefully not having to buy anything from a store. Just tilled up 60'x75', plus a area by our pond for winter squash and pumpkins, and a area behind our garage to try mangles for the chickens.
Hard work but easy isn't healthy. I might not be able to get away from certain processed foods that we like, but I'm going to try dang hard in putting a dent on what we do buy in a store.

Yep! I'm in this boat too. I have to admit that I found it deeply satisfying a couple weeks back to make us a dinner that came almost exclusively from our own property. The only store-bought items were the celery I stuffed the chicken with and the wine I cooked it in, and the olive oil I used to make the mayo for the deviled eggs. The salad, onions and herbs I used all came from my garden and the chicken and deviled eggs all came from the poultry I've been raising. It was pretty cool.

There is ample opportunity for excellent education here on BYC. Folks just need to open their ears, open their minds.

I used to tell my daughter, "If your talking, then your not listening."

True enough! Unfortunately too many people prefer entertainment over education.

LOL AMEN! Of course reminding vegans that they are killing animals by their very existence on the planet never gets through to them.

:th And to think there are more people out there like this.  And they make decisions that affect the rest of us.  We should be afraid for the future.  I can only laugh at the absurdity, it's been a while since I came across someone so obtuse.

I don't mind eating meat it's just the only thing that makes me not like to eat meat and bother me to kill my own is the fact that all those people in the world let there kids waste all of that meat and throw it in the garbage and it's like an animal lost its life to be on ur plate and made of a meal not to be in the garbage for a raccoon to dig for it and throw our garbage all over the street looking for that little peice of meat and this fishing thing is getting out of control the way they put those fish in the big tanks with no water dieing slow death for people to waste it when I have kids they ain't leaving that table until they finish there meat or they arnt eating anything else until that meat is off there plate and in e fridge for another meal or ey aren't leaving that table until they finish and if ey don't eat it at all and don't want to eat it then they arnt going to eat anything then for the next meal for the day or if it's the last meal for that day then they arnt going to be eating breakfast I know it may sound cruel but I am not going to be raising lazy kids that think they are going to set and play video games all day they are going outside going to eat there food and not waste it they can get rid of there scraps but we ain't throwing out no whole heck of chicken unless u are feeding it to our pets to feed them and not wasting it to feed to some wild animal they know how to find there own food without us feeding them

Tbh no food goes to waste. It feeds other animals like mice, rats, squirrels and racoons. Although I dont like them they need to eat. Its just how it goes. They eat the garbage, eagles or owls eat the rodents and the eagles eventually die and something eats them. So nothing goes to waist.

You do make a good point there that I under stand that animals are being killed in fields that grow our food but not to mention e more people that goes vegan there will be more fields less trees more animals being killed by those death machines driven by careless people our future isn't looking to bright espesially with all of these fossil fuels going to have more uv rays coming down and making it hotter down on earth causing global warming but let's get back to the point vegans kill and harm animals weather they eat them or not
