Halo you aren't kidding with some of those huge show rocks. Still working up from hatchery sizes has been pretty simple. I really like the size I got in your pullets. That's a good solid development pace, good feather, nice standard size. Made my second generation look like pikers. LOL. I got some third gen that showed promise until they feathered in with shafts.... sigh.
We'll be doing more eggs in fall, I desperately need more blue rocks, I miss my Rhythm and Lenore looks very odd the only blue bird out there.
Since my emphasis is heritage with a hard lean to dual purpose I want to see broader, heavier breasts early and I can see that's going to take some work, with the tendency in Rocks being toward a late breast development, despite an early pronounced keel.
And I want it to get out there and FEED itself, which Rocks are pretty good at.
Size I have been able to work on pretty easily. I do wonder if increasing bantam size would be as easy once you've been selecting for bantam genes for a long while.
And I don't suppose you could make those monster show rocks too much larger without injection of some other blood.
