Do ducks, chickens, turkeys, ect., have to breed every day for eggs to be fertile? The reason I ask is how frequent can wild turkeys breed? Thanks!!

I don’t know about ducks or turkeys specifically, but with chickens a hen will store the sperm for use later. How long the sperm remains viable varies some, but it usually lasts two weeks. Some chicken hens have been known to lay fertile eggs for a bit over three weeks after the last successful mating, but that is kind of rare.

I’d guess that ducks and turkeys re somewhat similar, but I don’t know for sure with them.

Turkey hens and ducks, like chickens, store sperm in their oviducts. Turkey hens can lay fertile eggs for up to 4 weeks and ducks can lay fertile eggs for up to 2 weeks after a successful mating, but it is recommended that ducks mate more often to ensure fertility.
