I'll be breeding Rhodebars and thought it would be a fun project to work on breeding Hambars as well. Anyone else out there working on them?

Sorry here is the explanation

Hambars are autosexing just like the more known Legbars or Rhodebars... They can be created by using the same methods that created the Cambar, Legbar, and Rhodebar that are better known.

Hambars can be created by using a Rhodebar to a New Hampshire Red

If others have more info I would love for you to post

pictures and more info soon

It might help if you would explain what you are talking about. I hate these combined chicken names. I have no idea what they are.

I will be here this coming spring after I get my Delaware project up and running. I still have to get me a few more New Hampshire pullets to work with and a good male breeder. I have a half-breed male (factory/production quality) to use right now and (factory/production) light red females, but I'm working on getting a good half-breed male out of good stock to cross onto my "real" New Hampshire hens for better type birds. I've been kicking this idea around for some time and finally getting things gathered up to get it up and running, hopefully sooner than later.

The Hambar :
The Hambar was ‘made’ in Canada and to my knowledge never made it over to the UK. They were the result of careful crosses between Redbars/Rhodebars and New Hampshire Reds during the late 40’s early 50’s.
