I have a question about starting out a meal worm farm, when adding meal worms do they have to be alive? or can they
be freeze dried???

please help, first time with my girls... they just love meal worms:-)

I'm not sure I understand what your question is; if you're asking whether you can feed live mealworms to your birds, the answer is a resounding yes!! They love them!

If you want to raise them, well, freeze dried mealworms aren't going to make any more little mealworms...There are quite a few threads about them, both feeding and raising them:

If you decide to raise them, it is not difficult at all.

If you mean adding meal worms to your meal worm farm, yes they need to be alive. The freeze dried ones are killed by the process of being freeze dried.
