Breeding meat chickens

The classic CX is a hybrid, yes. Not a true breed.
I think if we feed only in the am and afternoon, they can reach breeding age. However, there will be different types of mixed combinations spread between A, B, C and D. The trick is to find the right pairing from those to produce broilers.

You can definitely raise CornishX to breeding age - there's a 13 mo old hen regularly popping out eggs in my program. I feed once daily (the evening) to ensure everyone goes to bed with full crops. During the day, they have to free range for their food. In the AM, they are "very eager". ;) Even the Cornish moves her @$$, which is good for her. (Oh, took about 7 months before she started laying)

But if I had had my choice of birds when I started my flock, these would not have been my first choices.
