I have a Mille Fleur d'Uccle rooster and three OEGB Mille Fleur hens. If I breed them, what can I expect to see with colors, leg feathering, etc.?

You will get birds with feathered legs but without vulture hocks (the long stiff feathers growing from the hock joint) and if he is homozygous for the beard gene they will have beards. If he is heterozygous for that gene half of them will have beards.

Thank you so much! The d'Uccle rooster is beardless and has darker colors (including chestnut/mahogany) than the lighter OEGB hens, so the resulting color will be interesting.

Thank you again. It is always a pleasure to talk to someone who understands the genetics of cross-breeding much better than I do.

Please post pics and keep us posted. I too have a Mille Fleur D'Uccle ( technically a Booted Bantam since no beards or muffs) and I also have 1 Mille OEGB hen. I thought about crossing them too.

My Mille Fleur OEGBs (and others) are shown here on the day I picked them up.

I had intended to get some mille fleurs eventually, but not for awhile, and then I saw these available and had to get them. I am glad that I did.
