Breeding Poultry Trios vs Pairs

Which is better when breeding show poultry Trios or Pairs? Reasoning and pros/cons of each. Need some help for when I start breeding my birds.

I will let some of the show people answer you because you probably bought a trio and are wondering about the genetic choices that you can make. I always thought they did a lot of single mating.(pair)
