The advice given to you by Celtic Hill is good sounds advice; I just never was able to follow it myself. (The part about keeping one breed).
Tell me about it! I went to the congress this weekend and it was like, i am only coming home with Duccles or OEGBs...I came home with neither, a Pair of Dutch Bantams and Pigeons... Go figure... But do as i say not as i do.
When you have even 3 breeds its a lot of work to know their standard, find quality birds and then all the pens/coops you need, is x3. I mean when you put together a small scale breeding program you need at least two pens or one fairly good sized coop. And then the next year expect to double that. Its a lot of work and $, i am still trying to come up with a pen that can hold a bantam trio that is inexpensive to make multiple of.
