Would a better project not be improve each specie ? Not a big fan of cross breeds at all!

Thats a great idea as well! I will give it my best effort and breed out any defects, I have a bob hen with a mutated beak and she has been cancelled out of the breeding stock

It doesn't really seem worth the effort if the fertility is so low. And there is no way i would artificially fertilize. If they can't do it themselves it shouldn't be done.

Slipperhill hatched a Gambel's x bob chick. He had it for several months and it was clearly a mutt.... And a woman in SD I know has posted pix of a adult cali x bob cross..... It happens....

In the wild photographers have captured pics of cali/gambels, blue scale/bob, gambel/bob hybrids and some other blue scaled crosses I feel like I'm forgetting. They occasionally happen where their territories cross, most of the pics I've seen have been from the southwest, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas area where those three overlap.

Oh wow cool, right now I have a quad of Cali/gamble I bought from a guy who said they were valley, but I really like them so I am fine with it

Valley quail are California, and bobsxscaled and scaledxgambels are common in wild, there called blobs and scrambles.
