I have jumbo brown coturnix, they r chicks now and I want to breed them for more later, I was told 1 - 4 male to female, my question is what temp in spring do they start mateing, so I know when to collect to incubate?

If the male is crowing you can be sure he's active. It isn't temperature but daylight hours that dictates their breeding season, and they need at least 14 hours of light for the females to be laying eggs. You can crack open a few test eggs and look at the yolk. All yolks have a lighter spot on them. A fertile egg has a ring around that spot like this:

And I have been told that u can eat fertal eggs. Is this true?

And one more Q how long can I keep refrigated eggs?
