Breeding Quail

I am trying to breed my quail but every time I place the male on top of the female he falls off! Should I place the female on her back?

If you put them in a smaller cage, say... 5 inches long by 3 inches wide by 6 inches tall, he won't have room to fall off. Then, no matter what, eventually it will happen. If you keep them like that, she has no choice but to set on the eggs till they hatch. Cha-Ching! Free money when you sell those chicks!

I like DerekF's method, but maybe you can put some treats down, too, so they won't try to squirm apart.

I pour a glass of Dom Pérignon and lit a cigarette for them afterwards, but then the temp dropped and it started snowing so that effort was futile.....Dang TN weather!

1. Good Ideas, I will give each of them a try ..................some day!
2. I would video the ordeal, but honestly..... I am unsure of their age! lol
