Breeding rabbits, which do you prefer?

I got a late start with chores today, so it was around 1 when I finally got around to putting them together. He bred her twice (three times?) then. I didn't want to wait til tomorrow morning (noon) to put them together again, so I did it again around 5. He bred her again a couple times, so it should have worked. They are both young, Thumper (the buck) is about 1 year old and Tulip (the doe) is about 8 months. I don't know what breed they are, but they are medium-sized rabbits. Not as big as say, a New Zealand, but not as small as a dutch.

ETA: when I went to put them back together he was about ready to jump out of his cage....poor guy. I guess before he just didn't know what he was missing

We do both here @ our rabbitry. Doe goes to bucks cage & sometimes she does stay over night if they are getting along just fine. And so far so good with the overnight visits.But we would never leave rabbits together that were not getting along.

not to sound mean or anything but i don't believe that is true, i have had bucks that bred several times and fainted a few times or everytime they mounted and never had the breeding take or kits born(different bucks and does used). i also have had breedings where the bucks never fainted and had anywhere in the litters from 4-9 kits born. in my herd not all my bucks faint and the ones that don't i've never had them not produce a litter and they have always made some kind of contact even though they didn't faint.

i breed both ways depends on the does, the bucks and the breeds which i do. if it is a put in take out breeding, i put them in supervised while i do chores and remove when i am done(usually an hour or so) and then do it again same way everyday next 2 days. if it is ones i know can be left together i leave in for 3 days and remove the doe again. i always take the does to the bucks and if i can't i put them in a nutral cage or i let them run around the mini barn and play till i get my chores done and then they go back to their cages till next day and breed again. i have tried the put together and remove several times over a day or 2 for quick breedings but they never usually work for our buns.

Updating to this. I posted a new thread with pics of mama, daddy, and one of the babies. Apparently I (they) did it right because there are 9 babies! That, to me, is a huge litter for a first-timer!
