Breeding Silkies

Hey Everyone, I'm new to BYC and I'm new to having chickens. First off, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. Please overlook. My issue is, my wife wants to breed her Silkies, but local ordinance doesn't allow Roosters where we live. So, does anyone "stud" their chickens? How does one go about that? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Good way to pick up diseases (like respiratory illness).

Best to keep a closed flock for biosecurity, and not have roosters coming and going.

I completely agree. Sadly, i am not sure what to recommend otherwise.. because sending a hen out to be bred is just as risky.
