Breeding true breeding Moss Eggers

Maybe I'm mistaken, points should be pretty defined by now at 6 weeks. I'm looking at too many straight combs everyday to not even give them a second glance.

Thoughts? This is only 2 of the 3.

Those look like single row pea combs to me. Lots of people claim that single row means female and 3 row pea comb means male. In my limited experience single row combs have turned out to be some female and some male. I have only had like 3-4 chicks with 3 row combs and they were all male. It’s a pretty low sample size so it might not mean anything other than just chance.

Thanks for the info, bud. I have a hard time gendering the pea combs. But the 2 have bigger and redder combs than the last one so I was assuming males. I'll post pics of each in my thread and tag you and @TexasBlues , so I don't muddy his thread up. 👍

From what understand if they have 2 copies for pea comb it will express as a pea comb and if they only have 1 copy it will express into a larger modified pea comb which is what I think my whiting rooster has. But if that’s true then I will see some single combs in the whiting true blue line. Maybe not, since they all are supposed to carry 2 copies of the blue egg gene.

They seem too rounded in the points imo to be a straight comb, but it looks like more points than a pea.
