Breeding turkeys

This may sound really stupid but I have two female turkeys and a male which is half heritage. The male is constantly trying to mate and the females submit to this but it doesn't look like the male actually makes contact. He stands on the females back and she squats down but the feathers don't make contact. How does she get pregnant? or do I have a mentally challenged male?

How old are your turkeys, he may be young and is learning. When they mate, you will see that he will lean back to make contact and the hen will raise her butt to accommodate the tom.

In that case I'm sure he didn't succeed. I don't know how old he is Hes new to me but not sure of his age.
