Breeding with silkies: white rooster and buff hens

Still hoping someone will help me with the ear lobe question.

Is is possible that the black Silkies have darker lobes?

My white and lavender and buff are all real turquise but the blacks aren't.

I'll sure stop using this roo if he is a bad deal....and can I breed for turquoise ear lobes?

I heard that any color of earlobe besides turquoise is a disqualification. I know someone with black silkies and they all have turquoise earlobes.

I have blacks they have turquoise ear lobes....

As they get older, the turquoise sometimes dulls to white or fades to mulberry. Ideally, it should stay turquoise.

Thanks for the replies, I figured that!

I guess I'll quit using him then, he is young and the ear lobes look near black right now.

Does anyone know how much this trait is inherited?
Is it dominate?

I believe the turquoise earlobe colour is related to black skin and white earlobes--put the two together and you have turquiose. I don't beleive that theory has been set in concrete just yet.
