I know the answer to this is probably on here somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

I want to get a rooster to breed one of my laying hens. When they breed, will the hen lay one egg a day or will she lay all her eggs in one day?

Thanks,
Bill

She will still only lay 1 egg per day and occasionally skip a day. If you're referring to making a clutch to hatch, she will lay an egg a day over a period of a week or so and then sit (in most cases). Some hens never go broody though, so she may never sit on her eggs and you may have to rely on artificial incubation using an incubator.

I have Rhode Island Reds. I would like to get a White Rock Roo to breed with one of them.

Thanks for the info.

I have 6 Golden Buffs about half grown. I like them and understand they are a cross between RHI and White Rock. Not sure whether the cross is a result of a WHR hen and RHI Rooster or the other way around.
