All NRHs I've met have been super friendly, hardy chickens. If you can get your hands on some of them they'd be totally worth it.

I have 2 Amber links that have done extremely well over the past 4 years I’ve had them. I originally had 3 but one passed away not too long ago. I’ve had 3 White Leghorns all killed by predators. Those breeds lasted the longest for me. I’ve a handful of others but they died a year or two after I had them.

RIRs do tend to be more aggressive toward other chickens. The people who bred them used a lot of game chickens to increase their hardiness, but it also rubbed off on their temperament.
