Can anyone tell me what breeds of chickens do well in Florida? I'm interested in the Buff Orpingtons but I don't know if the Florida heat is going to be a problem.
Thanks

not a problem at all, i have Buff,Blue,Splash and Black Orps and they do just fine.

I have Orphingtons in buff and white, EE, RIR, Golden Comet, Black Astraloups, Turkens, Silkies, and some polish chicks. Plus I've had some other breeds too and have had no problem.

Delawares will do very well in Florida. They're mostly white birds (see the rooster in my avatar), not too heavily feathered and medium size combs. They also forage very well and are excellent layers, generally. They are also quite friendly.
