Please post your experiences with various breeds of free ranging chickens.

Do the Brahmas do well free ranging?

We'll have a main coop and a tractor in the pasture with the birds.

Brahmas do fairly well, yes. I find that my Delawares, Rocks and Orpingtons are the most industrious foragers here. My two Brahmas hang around the back door looking for treats more than the others, though, LOL.

All of my breeds forage excellently, but on the low scale would be Easter Eggers. Of course, each person's EE experience can be different.

I have Brahmas, and they're quite good too. It usually takes for a group to go out beyond 150 feet from the coop before they do, but they'll go anywhere after that.

I have/have had EEs, BRs, RIRs, BAs, Welsummers, Delawares, and Speckled Sussex. They are do well at foraging, though the Black Australorps seems awfully hungry when they get back to the coop.
