BREEDS THAT DON'T BROOD OR ARE MORE LIKELY THEN OTHERS TO NOT BROOD

Hello:

I am looking for some suggestions for non broody chickens. I have two golden commets now and want to get two more different ones, but dont want any that go broody. I have been trying to do some research, but there is not alot our there.

any suggestions?

Most sexlinks and hatchery strains of birds will tend not to brood because they are bred for production.

That said, if you want a non broody breed, a leghorn will fit that bill.

However, there are always exceptions. My best broody was a sexlink, and I've known a leghorn who hatched out a clutch of chicks.
 
That's true. Just at the moment I have a commercially bred White Leghorn and an ISA Brown red sex-link that are both broody and determined about it. But generally speaking neither hardly ever do so.
