Hey yall! Just got my 8 bantam chicks from Ideal Poultry! They are doing great! Love to watch them! Ideal also sent me 8 male chicks as "warmers" but did not say what they were. All 8 are black with a yellow place on each head and on wings. Any ideal (no pun intended) what kind they may be? We glad to have them and live in rural setting so I may trade off roosters. The chicks are also alot bigger than the bantams so I think they must be standard chickens. Thanks for all the help in advance! Cluck on!
Thanks for the welcome! I am enjoying my chicks so much. G and I have found a huge doghouse at Lowe's that looks like a logcabin with windows and a roof that is hinged on one side. We want to make it "The House" for the bantams. Probably wont keep all the males that were extra. Even though the chicks are in the basement that is heated and has a lamp on them, I keep checking them tonight at it is to get down to 25 degrees. G is as excited as I am and checks on them, too.
