Just thought this was interesting:

City Administrator Bola Akande said city staff had determined at least two residents were already raising chickens in violation of city law. But when the issue was brought to the Board of Aldermen's attention, she said, it was decided those residents wouldn't be cited and a bill instead would be crafted to allow the practice.
