Brentwood NorCal Chicken Owners???

We are in search of all public and underground chicken owners in Brentwood (94513). We've been quiet for a couple of years in our quest to legalize chicken ownership. BUT IT'S TIME to renew our energy, support each other and move forward! With three City Council positions open in the November election, we are hoping for some fresh faces to join our city government. Once a new Council is established, we have every intention of bringing chicken ownership back to table! We are estimating January 2013 would be an effective time to officially bring this topic back to the city for discussion.

As a teacher, I incubated 7 eggs and 5 hatched in my classroom. My husband and I (mostly me) would like to keep 2 of the chicks but since my home is on a lot less than 20,000 square feet, and we have a neighbor who would definitely report us, we most likely will not keep any of them. The feed store will gladly take them from us as they donated the eggs to us.
It has been a great learning opportunity for my students and I will definitely hatch eggs in the classroom again next year. My hope is that the city ordinance will be modified so that I can raise the hens from our class projects while still being in compliance with our laws. As this was never on my radar before, how can I help?
