CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY PEOPLE PUT BREWERS YEAST IN THERE HOMEMADE CHICKEN FEED?THANKS

Two reasons. It can be used as as protein supplement (roughly 44%).

More importantly, it's a great source of niacin. Niacin defficiencey is a significant health issue with waterfowl causing weak legs and slow growth. It can also be a problem in chickens, since the niacin in most cereal grains is not in a form the chicken can use.

How much brewer's yeast do you sprinkle on the food. I just don't want to over do it. I have approx 20 ducklings right now.

2% or less of there ration, and you may want to top there feed with it rather than mixing a weeks worth of feed at one time since Brewers Yeast will spoil quickly.
